Occupational risk assessment is a mandatory process for identifying hazards and assessing their impact on employee health. In Poland, this obligation will become mandatory in 2025 under Article 226 of the Labor Code and has been further clarified in new occupational health and safety regulations.
Risk assessment is the foundation of effective occupational health and safety management and the prevention of accidents and occupational diseases. It aims to:
Comprehensive service also includes the registration of the following registers required by law:
In practice, occupational risk assessments should be tailored to the specific job situation—not "formulaic." Therefore, as part of our service, we collect information about the activities actually performed, the equipment used, work organization (e.g., shift work, fieldwork, remote work), and environmental conditions. Based on this, we prioritize threats and identify which of them are crucial for employee health and safety.
The next step is to translate the assessment into actionable measures within the company: selecting preventive and protective measures, establishing priorities, and planning organizational solutions (e.g., instructions, procedures, work rules, personal protective equipment). It's also important to properly document the assessment and present the results to employees so they know what to look for and how to safely perform their duties—without creating "dead documentation" that no one consults.
We also support maintaining risk assessments. In many companies, risks change as business evolves: new positions, different processes, new substances, new machinery, or workflows change. We help determine when the assessment should be updated and how to conduct it consistently, ensuring that subsequent changes don't create document clutter.
Our comprehensive service also includes organizing required records: harmful factors (e.g., chemical, biological), training, and occupational diseases – so that they are maintained consistently, are complete, and can be used in the event of inspections or employee questions. We also assist in preparing the data and documents required for ZUS IWA, ensuring that reporting obligations are met in a timely manner and based on accurate information.
The effect for the employer is simple: better control over risks at the plant, fewer "points of contention" during inspections and, above all, real support in the prevention of accidents and occupational diseases, and not just fulfillment of a formal obligation.
